Southwest Monsoon Gains Strength, Rain Likely in Many Areas

South Peninsular India is expected to experience varying intensities of rainfall along with thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds reaching speeds of 40-50 kmph. Kerala is likely to see light to moderate rainfall today, followed by heavy rainfall starting tomorrow, which may persist for the next 3-4 days. Tamil Nadu will experience similar conditions for the next two days, while Karnataka may encounter such weather after two days, continuing for 2-3 days. Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana are also expected to see rainy conditions over the next four days. West India is expected to experience light to moderate rainfall, accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds reaching speeds of 40-50 kmph. Goa, Maharashtra, and Gujarat are likely to witness these weather conditions over the next two days. Northeast India is expected to experience light to moderate rainfall, along with thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds reaching speeds of 30-40 kmph over the next seven days. Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura may witness heavy rainfall during the next three days. East and Central India are expected to experience light to moderate rainfall, accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds reaching speeds of 40-50 kmph. Chhattisgarh may see these conditions over the next 2-3 days, while West Bengal, Jharkhand, and Odisha are likely to experience similar weather patterns for the next 3-4 days. Northwest India is expected to experience light to moderate rainfall, accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds reaching speeds of 40-50 kmph over Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan during the next 3-4 days. Himachal Pradesh may witness thundersqualls from tomorrow, with wind speeds reaching 50-60 kmph, gusting up to 70 kmph, along with the possibility of hailstorms. Additionally, Rajasthan is likely to experience dust storms with wind speeds of 40-50 kmph until tomorrow. Conditions are favourable for further advance of Southwest Monsoon into some more parts of central Arabian Sea, some more parts of Maharashtra including Mumbai, Karnataka including Bengaluru, some parts of Andhra Pradesh, remaining parts of Tamil Nadu, some more parts of westcentral & North Bay of Bengal and some more parts of Northeastern states during next 2 days.
