Upcoming Weather Trends Across India: Rainfall and Thunderstorm Activity by Region
A deep depression that had formed over North Gujarat and adjoining South Rajasthan has moved in a west-northwest direction and is now located over southeast Pakistan and nearby areas of Rajasthan and Kutch. It is expected to continue moving westward across southern Pakistan until the afternoon, after which it will gradually weaken into a regular depression. Meanwhile, the monsoon trough currently extends through this deep depression zone covering southeast Pakistan, Rajasthan, and Kutch and continues through Churu, Agra, Lucknow, Prayagraj, Daltonganj, and Digha, before stretching eastward into the northeast Bay of Bengal. Over the next few days, West and Northwest India will experience light to moderate rainfall, with heavier spells expected in West Rajasthan and the Saurashtra & Kutch regions. Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh are likely to see thunderstorms accompanied by heavy rain during the next two to three days. Uttar Pradesh may face similar weather conditions, but a few days later. Meanwhile, Punjab and Haryana are expected to receive light rain. In East and Central India, light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms is expected over East Madhya Pradesh for the next three days. West Madhya Pradesh will likely experience similar conditions starting in four days, continuing for two days thereafter. Chhattisgarh and West Bengal are set to receive rain over the next five days. Bihar rainy spell is expected to end in three days, while Odisha will begin receiving rainfall from tomorrow, with wet conditions persisting through this period. Northeast India is expected to receive light to moderate rainfall over the coming days. Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, and Meghalaya are likely to experience heavier spells during the next five days. Meanwhile, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura will begin seeing rain after two days, with wet conditions continuing for the following three days. South Peninsular India is expected to see light to moderate rainfall along with thunderstorms and gusty winds reaching speeds of 30–40 kmph. Tamil Nadu and Kerala will experience these conditions until tomorrow. Coastal Andhra Pradesh is likely to receive rain over the next three days, while Telangana will see wet weather continuing for the next five days.
