Currently summer sowing stands at 71.80 lakh hectares (lha), a 7.5% rise from 66.80 lha last year. Summer paddy cultivation surged by 10%, reaching 30.30 lha. Pulses acreage rose by 4.3% primarily due to increased moong cultivation. Moong sowing stands at 16.76 lha, while urad has slightly decreased. Oilseed acreage has seen an uptick, reaching 9.60 lha with increased groundnut and sesamum cultivation.
