Maize Increased Demand in the Market
The government has increased the Minimum Support Price (MSP) of maize to ₹2225 per quintal. The arrival of maize in the markets of MP, Rajasthan, and Maharashtra has been on the rise for the past month. Meanwhile, the purchase by rack traders has led to maize prices in MP's markets reaching ₹2220-2250 per quintal, depending on quality, at the rack points. This increase in prices has put a temporary stop to the downward trend, as stockists, starch mills, ethanol companies, and poultry farmersindustries with high consumptionare actively buying. In the Mulatai-Chhindwara region, maize is selling for ₹2550 per quintal, and the price is similar in Haryana and Punjab. Therefore, there are prospects of further profit at current price levels.
