Scattered thunderstorms are expected over Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Lakshadweep, and the Andaman & Nicobar Islands, while rain expected in Mizoram, Manipur, and Tripura. Moderate rains, accompanied by lightning and thunderstorms, are expected over Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Mizoram, Manipur, and Tripura in the coming days. A cyclonic circulation over the Comorin area at lower tropospheric levels is expected to bring rain and isolated thunderstorms to Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Lakshadweep in next 1-2 days. Another cyclonic circulation over Assam in the Northeast is expected to bring scattered rainfall, along with thunderstorms and hailstorms, starting today and continuing in the coming days. An upper-air cyclonic circulation is likely to form over the South Andaman Sea by Thursday, developing into a low-pressure area over the southeast Bay of Bengal by Saturday. It may move northwestward toward the Tamil Nadu or Andhra Pradesh coasts by mid-next week. Dense to very dense fog is expected in isolated pockets of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, and Uttar Pradesh during the late night and early morning hours.
