Heavy Rains Forecast for Odisha and Andhra Pradesh; Snowfall Expected in Isolated Areas of Himachal Pradesh.

A well-marked low-pressure area over the southwest Bay of Bengal, off South Andhra Pradesh-North Tamil Nadu, is expected to move west-southwestwards and weaken into a low-pressure area within 24 hours. Light to moderate rainfall, accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and heavy spells at isolated places, is expected over Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and Puducherry in the next two days, while coastal Odisha may experience light to moderate rainfall. The Western disturbance as a cyclonic circulation over north Pakistan & neighbourhood now lies over Jammu-Kashmir & adjoining Himachal Pradesh, is expected to bring light to moderate rainfall and snowfall at isolated places in the Western Himalayan region. Another active western disturbance is likely to affect western Himalayan region & adjoining plains from friday. It is very likely to interact with lower levels easterly winds over central parts of the country leading to high moisture feeding from Arabian Sea as well as Bay of Bengal. Scattered Rainfall and Snowfall is likely over Western Himalayan Region from Friday. Scattered to fairly widespread rainfall, accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning, is likely over the plains of northwest India and adjoining central India on Friday, and over Maharashtra and Gujarat starting Thursday. Thunderstorms with hailstorms are also expected over Punjab, Haryana, West Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Maharashtra. Cold wave to severe cold wave conditions very likely in some parts of Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana and Jammu-Kashmir during next 2-3 days. Dense fog conditions very likely to prevail during late night and early morning hours in Punjab, Haryana, West Bengal, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura Uttar Pradesh, Odisha, Rajasthan and Jharkhand during next 2-3 days.
