Cold Wave to Grip Isolated Pockets in Northern States.

Conditions are becoming favourable for cessation of Northeast Monsoon rains over Tamilnadu, Puducherry, and Kerala and adjoining areas of Coastal Andhra Pradesh and South Interior Karnataka by today. Two Western Disturbances in quick succession are likely to affect Western Himalayan Region one after two days and second upcoming Saturday. Under their influence, isolated to scattered rainfall and snowfall activity likely over Western Himalayan region and light isolated rainfall over adjoining plains these days. Minimum temperatures are expected to remain steady over Northwest, Central India, and Maharashtra for the next 48 hours, followed by a rise of 2-4°C. In East India, no significant change is likely for the next three days, with a similar rise of 2-4°C thereafter. Temperatures over the rest of the country are expected to remain largely unchanged. Cold Wave conditions very likely in isolated pockets of Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan and Punjab during next 1-2 days.
