Maize report
Despite continuous purchases from ethanol and starch mills, the demand for maize has decreased due to the government selling maize to ethanol companies at a price of ₹2250 per quintal. As a result, the market has dropped by ₹100-125 per quintal in the last 10 days. The price of maize in Ukraine has increased from $235-237 per ton to $245-247 per ton, making imports more expensive here. Additionally, rack loading at the rack points in Madhya Pradesh has decreased this week, putting pressure on the market. Therefore, purchasing maize at these lower prices could be beneficial. There is a slight possibility of a market increase in the near future. The price of maize from MP to Haryana and Punjab, which was ₹2750 per quintal, has now fallen to ₹2650 per quintal, but the demand at these prices is rising, leading to a market rebound. Considering consumption and production, a price increase is expected in the future.
