Maize Prices Unlikely to Fall Despite New Crop Arrival
Over the past week, adverse weather conditions in Madhya Pradesh and Bihar have led to a significant rise in maize prices. Maize, which was previously selling at 2550 per quintal, has now reached up to 2650 per quintal in the markets of Haryana and Punjab. In Madhya Pradesh, the current market prices are ranging between 2300 and 2350 per quintal. Although the new crop has started arriving in the markets, the recent heatwave has negatively impacted the per-hectare productivity of maize. Considering these circumstances, experts believe that there is little likelihood of a major drop in maize prices in the near future.
