Heavy Rains Forecast Across Several Regions as Cyclonic Circulations Persist
An upper air cyclonic circulation is currently located over north Coastal Andhra Pradesh and adjoining Telangana, extending between 3.1 and 5.8 km above mean sea level, and is tilting southwards with height. Meanwhile, another cyclonic circulation that was earlier over the central parts of Uttar Pradesh has now shifted to northwest Uttar Pradesh and extends up to 3.1 km above mean sea level. In Northwest India, light to moderate rainfall is expected over Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, and East Uttar Pradesh during the next 3 to 4 days. Meanwhile, Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and East Rajasthan may experience heavy spells of rain during this period. In West India, isolated heavy rainfall is expected over Maharashtra for the next two days and may continue for an additional three days. Similar weather conditions are likely in Goa, where isolated heavy showers are forecast over the next four days. Across the broader region, including Maharashtra and Goa, light to moderate rainfall is expected to continue over the next seven days. In East and Central India, light to moderate rainfall is likely over East Madhya Pradesh and Bihar during the next four days. East Madhya Pradesh is expected to continue experiencing similar weather conditions starting after two days. Rainfall activity is also likely to begin in West Bengal, Chhattisgarh, and Odisha from tomorrow. Overall, light to moderate rainfall is expected at most or many places across the region, accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning, over the next five days. In South Peninsular India, Telangana and Coastal Andhra Pradesh are likely to experience heavy rainfall over the next two days, while Karnataka may witness similar conditions after three days. Additionally, strong surface winds with speeds reaching 40–50 kmph are very likely across the region during the next two days. Light to moderate rainfall, accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning, is expected at most or many places across Rayalaseema, Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam, and Telangana over the next five days. In Northeast India, light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and isolated heavy showers is likely to continue over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, and Meghalaya for the next three days.
