North India Lashed by Heavy Rainfall
The upper air cyclonic circulation over central parts of Rajasthan now lies over northeast Rajasthan tilting southwards with height. Northwest India will see light to moderate rain over the coming days, with heavy spells likely in Uttarakhand, southern Himachal Pradesh, and Jammu & Kashmir until tomorrow. Moderate showers are expected in Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, and West Uttar Pradesh during this period. Himachal Pradesh, East UP, and West Rajasthan may receive rain over the next three days. Thunderstorms and lightning are likely in Uttarakhand and East Rajasthan over the next week, while Jammu & Kashmir may see similar conditions for four days. Rain and thunderstorms are also expected in Uttar Pradesh and West Rajasthan for the next two days, and in Himachal Pradesh today. West India is likely to experience light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms and lightning at a few places over the next five days. After three days, Gujarat and Maharashtra are expected to receive heavy rainfall, which may continue for two days thereafter. In East and Central India, light to moderate rain accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning is forecast over Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh for the next five days, while Odisha is likely to see similar conditions for the next four days. Northeast India will continue to receive isolated light to moderate rainfall over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura for the next seven days. Assam and Meghalaya are expected to begin receiving rainfall from tomorrow, which will persist for three days. Arunachal Pradesh is likely to see rainfall starting after three days. Across the South Peninsular region, light to moderate rain with thunderstorms and lightning is expected at a few places over the next five days. Kerala and Coastal Karnataka may experience heavy rainfall during this period, while Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana are likely to receive heavy showers over the next two days.
