Groundnut Market Update
Groundnut arrivals in Gujarat remain steady, and prices are stable. Meanwhile, the government is selling groundnuts at ₹4,700 per quintal. However, most of the government-held stock now consists of low-quality or trash-type groundnuts, so only traders who wish to mix them with better lots are buying. Since the market currently depends more on new arrivals, prices have remained firm. Groundnut trading activity has now stabilized, and arrivals are expected to increase after Diwali. The government has not yet officially announced the procurement of groundnuts, but there are discussions that purchases may begin around the festival time. Loose groundnut oil prices remain steady at ₹1,375 per 10 kg. In Gondal Mandi on Saturday, around 17,000 bags (1 bag = 35 kg) arrived, and including pending stock, a total of 40,000 bags were traded. The average-quality peanuts were priced between ₹945₹1,115 per 20 kg, while best-quality peanuts fetched ₹1,040₹1,260 per 20 kg. In Rajkot Mandi, around 25,000 bags were traded. Average-quality peanuts were priced between ₹705₹1,060 per 20 kg, and best-quality peanuts were between ₹750₹1,250 per 20 kg. Across Saurashtra, total arrivals were around 70,000 bags.
