Guar Seed Prices Decline in Major Rajasthan Markets
Guar seed prices fell across several markets in Rajasthan and Gujarat due to weakness in futures and limited buying from processors. In Rajasthan, prices in Hanumangarh, Rawatsar, and Sangaria mandis dropped by ₹60 per quintal, with guar seed trading at ₹4,600 per quintal. In Gujarat, prices in Gondal and Rajkot mandis declined by ₹34 to ₹4,533 per quintal. The sharpest fall was seen in Adampur mandi of Haryana, where prices declined by ₹99 to trade between ₹3,175 and ₹4,436 per quintal. However, markets in Hisar, Mahendragarh, and Padampur remained steady, while prices in Lunkaransar mandi rose by ₹50 to ₹4,450 per quintal. Weakness in the futures market also reflected the pressure in the spot market. On NCDEX, the November 2025 guar seed contract fell by ₹48 to close at ₹4,777 per quintal, trading between ₹4,714 and ₹4,767. The December 2025 contract declined by ₹56 to ₹4,852 per quintal. Open interest for November dropped by 2,985 lots to 26,210 lots, indicating long liquidation ahead of expiry, while open interest for December increased by 2,700 lots to 39,690 lots, signaling rollover to the next month. Ample arrivals in Rajasthan and Haryana kept market sentiment subdued, while export demand for guar gum remained sluggish. Meanwhile, the reopening of Tanzania’s port and fresh arrivals from Mozambique exerted mild pressure on tur (pigeon pea) prices.
