Groundnut Market Report: Rajkot Prices Rise Despite Heavy Supply

Despite strong arrivals from Gujarat the country�s leading groundnut-producing state and other regions, prices have shown fluctuations based on demand and buying activity. In Rajkot market, daily average arrivals ranging between 20,000 and 40,000 bags, while Gondal recorded around 20,000 bags per day. Prices Groundnut prices in Gondal remained steady at ₹4,500�6,250 per quintal, but in Rajkot, they surged by ₹1,000, reaching ₹4,000�6,000 per quintal. In Bikaner (Rajasthan), prices held firm at ₹5,200 per quintal, while in Solapur (Maharashtra), they dipped by ₹100 to ₹6,400 per quintal. Arrivals In Uttar Pradesh, a mixed trend was observed. At Jhansi, arrivals ranged between 8,000 and 17,500 bags, and strong trader demand pushed prices up by ₹200 to ₹4,400�5,400 per quintal. However, in Mahoba, prices weakened by ₹100 to ₹4,500�5,200 per quintal. Groundnut Kernels Trade in shelled groundnut kernels remained sluggish in Rajasthan, with little price movement. In Maharashtra, however, prices fluctuated by ₹100�200. In Solapur, 70/80 count kernels fell by ₹250 to ₹7,500 per quintal, and in Nagpur, 60/70 count kernels dropped by ₹200 to ₹9,500 per quintal. Groundnut Oil In Rajkot, Gondal, Junagadh, and Jamnagar (Gujarat), slightly improved demand for loose groundnut oil lifted prices by ₹10 to ₹1,385 per 10 kg. Midweek, prices had touched ₹1,400 per 10 kg. However, 15-kg tin packs fell by ₹10, and similar declines were reported at other centers as well.
