Bullish Trend in Groundnut Prices Continues in Gujarat
Groundnut prices in Gujarat continued to rise today, gaining ₹20–25 per 20 kg, supported by firm trends in groundnut oil and groundnut cake. Active trading in groundnut oil and strong demand for groundnut cake have kept prices bullish. Additionally, lower arrivals of groundnut across the state have further strengthened the market. According to traders, loose groundnut oil traded at around ₹1,625 per 10 kg in the market, providing support to groundnut prices. Market participants believe that prices may continue to receive support until the government begins selling its groundnut stocks. Going forward, the market will closely watch the trend in groundnut arrivals. Groundnut cake prices are currently quoted at ₹35,500–36,500 per tonne. It is noteworthy that groundnut prices have increased by ₹75–100 per 20 kg over the last four days. In Gondal Mandi, arrivals were around 18,000 bags, with almost the same volume traded. Average quality groundnut was traded at ₹1,480–1,650 per 20 kg, while best quality fetched ₹1,375–1,495 per 20 kg. In Rajkot Mandi, trades were executed for 18,000 bags from pending stock, while around 16,000 bags remain pending. Average quality groundnut was traded at ₹1,240–1,500 per 20 kg, and best quality at ₹1,230–1,535 per 20 kg. Today, groundnut arrivals in Saurashtra were estimated at around 30,000–35,000 bags, whereas North Gujarat recorded arrivals of approximately 1,500–2,000 bags.
