Soybean Prices Surge by Up to ₹1,000 So Far This Month

The year 2026 has emerged as a fresh turning point for soybeans. During this month alone, soybean prices have risen by up to ₹1,000, and the bullish momentum is still continuing. At Kirti Plant in Maharashtra, soybean prices opened at ₹5,070 on January 1. On January 28, prices jumped by ₹130 in a single day and closed at ₹6,080. Overall, soybean prices have increased by more than ₹1,000 so far this month. Looking at Soya DOC, prices are consistently moving upward and are currently trading in the range of ₹44,000–₹45,000, providing strong support to soybean prices. Additionally, the cancellation of soy oil contracts has kept the supply of soy oil tight in the Indian market, further supporting prices. In Brazil, recent rainfall has slowed down soybean harvesting. Due to lower stock levels, Brazil is prioritizing its domestic requirements first, and any increase in global supply will take time. In India, soybean production is already lower this season, and crop damage caused by rainfall has further reduced available stocks. As a result, farmers are not willing to sell at lower prices, forcing processing plants to purchase at higher rates. This is why soybean prices in Maharashtra have crossed the ₹6,000 mark. Experts believe that due to positive fundamentals from all sides and strong demand for soy oil and mustard DOC, soybean prices at Maharashtra plants may soon reach ₹6,300, while Madhya Pradesh plants could see prices between ₹6,000 and ₹6,100 in the coming days. However, intermittent profit booking is likely.
