After witnessing a sharp correction over the past few weeks, the Indian soybean market is showing early signs of recovery. Kirti Plant, one of Maharashtras key soybean processors, had offered procurement prices of nearly ₹7,950 per quintal in mid-July. However, due to weak demand and increased selling pressure, prices slipped by around ₹550 per quintal, touching ₹7,400 per quintal. On 29 July, the plant increased its procurement price by ₹100 per quintal, taking the rate to ₹7,500 per quintal. This move has improved market sentiment and indicates renewed buying interest at lower price levels. Across major soybean-producing states such as Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Rajasthan, mandi prices are currently trading in the range of ₹6,700–₹7,150 per quintal, depending on quality. Better-quality soybean continues to attract steady demand, while lower-grade arrivals are witnessing comparatively weaker buying. On the production front, soybean sowing has reached approximately 113.65 lakh hectares, slightly lower than last years 117.25 lakh hectares. The progress of the monsoon during August will play a crucial role in determining crop conditions and overall production prospects. Globally, ample soybean supplies from Brazil and the United States continue to keep international markets well supplied. While no major bullish trigger is visible at present, any weather-related disruption in key producing regions could influence global prices and, in turn, impact the Indian market. The overall market outlook remains cautiously bullish. If procurement by major processors continues to improve and farmer selling remains limited, soybean prices could gain another ₹200–₹300 per quintal over the coming weeks.
