Thunderstorm over Northern region, rainfall is expected in southern peninsula

The Western Disturbance as a trough likely to affect Western Himalayan region and adjoining plains from 26th November. Under its influence, thunderstorm/hailstorm accompanied with lightning at isolated places is likely over Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Haryana, Chandigarh & Delhi on 26th & 27th November. In Jammu Division, postpone sowing of mustard, and rabi pulses (pea and gram). In Jammu Division, continue sowing of wheat (late sown) during clear weather. Continue harvesting of Basmati rice (Late transplanted), after current spells of heavy rain and store in safe place.

In Haryana, complete picking of cotton. Undertake sowing of wheat, barley and fodder crops like barseem and oat.In Uttarakhand, undertake harvesting of pigeon pea, continue plucking of pods of bean and pea. Continue sowing of wheat, mustard, berseem and lentil, complete sowing of gram.Under the influence of active easterly wave conditions over south peninsula, scattered to fairly widespread rainfall with isolated heavy falls likely over Tamilnadu, Puducherry & Karaikal during the forecast period. In Tamil nadu, in rice, due to prevailing weather condition, occurrence of leaf folder and BPH incidence is being noticed in the Samba rice. For the management of leaf folder, apply Cartop Hydrochloride 4 G @ 6 kg/acre mixed with equal quantity of sand or Cholorpyriphos 400 ml/acre. For BPH control, Imidacloprid at 40 ml/acre, may be sprayed, after current spells of heavy rain.

Heavy Rainfall very likely at isolated places over coastal Tamilnadu, Puducherry & Karaikal. Dense fog very likely in isolated pockets over Assam & Meghalaya during morning hours. In Karaikal, to control blast in rice, spray Carbendazim 50 WP or Tricyclozole 75 WP @ one gram or one ml in one litre of water, after current spells of heavy rain.
