South India to witness Moderate to Heavy rain and dense fog over North-East

The Well Marked Low Pressure Area intensified into a Deep Depression and lay centered over east central Arabian Sea about 640 km south-southwest of Mumbai (Maharashtra). It is very to intensify into a Cyclonic Storm during next 24 hours. The Deep Depression over southwest Arabian Sea remained practically stationary. It is likely to intensity into a Cyclonic Storm during next 12 hours.

Under the influence of Low pressure area, moderate to heavy rain likely over Kerala, Karnataka and Lakshadweep area. In Karnataka, continue harvesting of maize, groundnut. Continue sowing of short duration crops such as cowpea, field bean and sunflower; undertake planting of sugarcane, after current spells of heavy rain. Complete harvesting of maize. Continue sowing of wheat and chickpea and new planting of sugarcane after current spells of heavy rain.Due to active easterly wave, Tamil Nadu will continue to receive good rain.
