Chickpea Exports from Russia Continue Firm Performance
Shipments of chickpeas from Russia recorded significant advances, moving upward relative to the previous month in September, the latest data from Federal Customs Service of Russia reports. Shipments during the month totalled 32,637 metric tons (MT), up from 20,789 MT the previous month.
This boosted shipments so far during the calendar year to 271,231, up 354% last year. Turkey was the number one importer for the month, buying 12,343 MT. Pakistan was the second most important consumer receiving 8,121 MT, followed by India at 5,338 MT.
