Widespread rain over north-India and Heavy rainfall over Tamil Nadu

A fresh active Western Disturbance likely to affect Western Himalayan region from the night of 10th December, adjoining area; Uttar Pradesh ,north Madhya Pradesh and Bihar from 12th December. Under its Influence, scattered to fairly widespread rain/snow with isolated heavy falls likely over Western Himalayan Region from 11th December and scattered to fairly widespread rain/thunderstorm with isolated heavy falls likely over Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh & Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, North Rajasthan and North Madhya Pradesh from 12th December.

In Haryana, after harvesting of rice, undertake field preparation for sowing of wheat, In East Rajasthan, continue sowing of mustard, pea, garlic, lentil and planting of potato. Undertake field preparation for sowing of wheat. In West Rajasthan, continue harvesting of groundnut, cotton and sowing of gram, mustard. In Madhya Pradesh, undertake field preparation for sowing of wheat. Undertake sowing of chick pea, mustard and pea.

Due to the disturbance, Heavy rainfall very likely at isolated places over South Coastal Tamilnadu. In Tamil nadu, drain out excess water from rice field. Postpone top dressing of fertilizer and pesticide. Undertake propping in late season sugarcane and tying of leaves in banana to avoid lodging. In Kerala, provide propping in banana. Dense fog in isolated pockets very likely over Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, South Assam & Meghalaya and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura during next 24 hour. In Mizoram, drain out excess water from maize, pea, lentil, Lathyrus, toria, greengram and blackgram. Continue harvesting of rice. In Assam, continue harvesting of Sali rice, continue sowing of wheat. Squally weather very likely to prevail over Lakshadweep and Maldives area.
