Weak Trading in Tur

Tur is traded weak at major centres due to rainfall in tur producing regions and millers buying support at current rates for immediate crushing requirement. New tur traded at Rs. 5,200-5250 per 100 Kg with arrivals of 150-200 bags. The quality of arrived tur was reported low. New tur arrivals pressure is likely to be created from mid-December in Solapur. As per our sources, farmers in Kalaburagi district of Karnataka have cultivated tur in about 6 Lakh hectares this year which is higher than last year. While the farmers are expecting bumper yield owing to timely rain and no major pest attack, fall in tur prices in the market has become a cause of worry.
