Hailstorm in isolated parts of East India whereas light to moderate rain in central and western parts

Under the influence of Western Disturbance light isolated rain/snow likely over western Himalayan region on 6-7th February. Due to interaction between easterly and westerly wind, scattered to fairly widespread rainfall/thundershowers expected over East India and isolated to scattered rainfall/thundershowers over Central India during 06th-08th February.

Isolated hailstorm/thunderstorm accompanied with lightening are also predicted over Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Vidarbha, Jharkhand, and Gangetic West Bengal during 06th 08th February. In Odisha, undertake sowing of summer maize, green gram and black gram. Complete the sowing of summer groundnut and sunflower. Undertake nursery rising of summer rice. Cover the recently planted cole crops with paper pockets during night time to avoid low temperature. In Chhattisgarh, give light irrigation to wheat, vegetables like cauliflower, cabbage, tomato, pea. In East Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha and Jharkhand, use hail net in orchards to safe guard the fruit crops from mechanical damage.

Dense fog likely over isolated parts of Punjab and Haryana & Chandigarh. Light rains are expected in a few parts of South Chhatisgarh, East Madhya Pradesh, and Vidarbha until February 7. Moderate spells are also possible in Chhattisgarh while, Rajasthan, Gujarat, West Madhya Pradesh and remaining parts of Maharashtra will witness dry weather conditions throughout the week. In North Gujarat, undertake harvesting of castor. In East Rajasthan, undertake nursery preparation of chili, tomato and brinjal and early cucurbitaceous crops in poly house. In Madhya Maharashtra continue sowing of groundnut.
