Isolated rainfall over northeast India, Dry spells to be observed in central and southern India.

The Western Disturbance as a trough in mid & upper tropospheric westerlies is observed, light rain/snow very likely on Arunachal Pradesh, Assam & Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur and Sikkim during 14th-18th February, 2020. Dry weather to prevail over rest parts of India. In Arunachal Pradesh, ensure proper moisture level during flowering and grain development stages in maize crop. During clear/dry days, two spray of Cypermethrin at 100 ml/ hectare is effective against stem-borer infestation in maize. Undertake harvesting of matured pods of pea. In Hill Zone of Assam, continue main field preparation for transplanting Boro paddy seedlings. Apply irrigation at flowering and siliquae development stages in rapeseed & mustard. Monitor cole crops regularly for leaf feeders; if pest population is above ETL, spray of Spinosad @1 ml / 3 litre of water.

Strong winds very likely to prevail over the plains of Northwest India during next 24 hours. February 14 and 16, the weather of the entire Northwest India will be dry. Both day and night temperatures are expected to rise in Northwest India during this week. Central India will experience dry weather conditions throughout the week. In MP Zone, due to high relative humidity, infection of blight may occur in potato and tomato. Farmers are advised to do constant monitoring in both the crops. If symptoms appears then spray of Carbendazim @ 1.0 gm / litre of water or Dithane-M-45 @ 2.0 gm / litre of water is recommended. In wheat crop, if termite appear than application of mixture of 20 kg sand with Chlorpyriphos02EC @ 2.0 litre/acre should be done in evening hours.

The temperatures is observed to be rising gradually in Maharashtra, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh. Thereafter, the weather of entire Southern India will become dry. In Chhattisgarh Plain Zone, If Yellow Vein Mosaic (YVM) disease is observed in pulses crop, destroy the affected plants and spray Metasystox or Rogar insecticide @1 ml/litre of water on a non rainy day. In Arid Western Plain Zone,weather is congenial for attack of blight in cumin crop, stop irrigating crop and apply 2.0 gram Mancozeb per litre water, if condition sustains then repeat the spray at an interval of 15 days.
