Western Disturbance as a cyclonic circulation lies over Afghanistan & Pakistan. Due to this it is projected that, light scattered rainfall/snowfall activity likely over Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, and Himachal Pradesh during next 48 hours. In Jammu Division, undertake nursery sowing of summer vegetables like tomato, brinjal, chilli, capsicum and cucurbits. In lower hilly areas of Himachal Pradesh,undertake field preparation for sowing of summer vegetables like capsicum, tomato, bhindi and cauliflower. A fresh Western Disturbance is likely to affect Western Himalayan Region & adjoining plains from 20th February. It is also projected that On February 20 and 21 Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh may receive rainfall accompanied thunderstorm. In Delhi, undertake sowing of French bean, cluster bean and transplanting of young seedlings of tomato, chilli, cauliflower, cabbage etc. In Punjab, undertake transplanting of bottle gourd. Protect the young fruit plants from cold weather by preparing thatches using straw, plastic, etc.
Dense fog to still prevail over Odisha. In Odisha, undertake transplanting of rice. Dry weather to be expected in central part of India which includes Gujarat, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, it is anticipated that day and night temperature may rise in central India. In Chhattisgargh, complete sowing of summer vegetables like pumpkin, bitter gourd, bottle gourd, okra. In Madhya Pradesh, undertake nursery preparation of summer vegetables, undertake planting of cucurbits. Check gram crops which is in pod formation stage for pod borers and if observed, spray flubendamide @ 3ml/ 10 litre of water.
The weather of the southern region will remain dry until February 20. Thereafter scattered rainfall is expected in Tamil Nadu. Temperature to rise in Karnataka and Kerala. In Tamil nadu, undertake harvesting of Thaladi rice. In South Interior Karnataka, undertake transplanting of rice and planting of sugarcane. In North Interior Karnataka, continue harvesting of bengal gram and pigeon pea and in coastal Karnataka, undertake harvesting of wheat.
