Northeast and east parts of India might receive rainfall, Central India to remain dry

Due to lower & mid-level westerlies over North India, confluence zone over East India has gone towards eastwards resulting in very less rainfall over isolated parts of east India today and no significant weather over the region from tomorrow onwards in east India. Cyclonic circulation has been observed over Bihar to Manipur, due to this it is Projected that northeast India which includes Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur might receive rainfall on 26th & 27th with peak activity on 26th Feb. In Assam, continue land preparation for sowing of early ahu (direct seeded) rice, planting of Capsularis jute, continue land preparation for sowing of green gram, black gram, ridge gourd, sponge gourd and okra once the weather is clear. In Manipur, undertake transplanting of tomato and land preparation for transplanting of rice.

A fresh active Western Disturbance likely to affect Western Himalayan Region from 27th February. Due to this it is projected that, an induced cyclonic circulation is likely to form over West Rajasthan & neighborhood on 28th February. It is very likely to cause moderate precipitation widespread precipitation with isolated thunderstorm accompanied with lightning & hail over western Himalayan region on 28th & 29th Feb, Himachal Pradesh during same period Bengal & Sikkim and Odisha. In Odisha, drain out excess water from the crop field. Postpone intercultural operations and fertilizer application. After the cessation of rainfall , undertake land preparation for sowing cucurbitaceous crop. In Bihar, postpone harvesting of potato. In Himachal Pradesh, postpone irrigation in rabi crops.

Dense fog observed in isolated parts over East Uttar Pradesh 26 February. Dry weather will continue in the entire southern region, but, light rain and thundershowers may occur in Andhra Pradesh on February 26. Thereafter, the weather will once again go dry. Fairly widespread rain and thundershowers in West Bengal, Odisha and Jharkhand. Scattered rain is likely in East Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. In Bihar, East Uttar Pradesh, Assam & Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura, Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan, provide support to banana,young fruit plants, propping up in sugarcane and staking in vegetables to prevent the crops from lodging due to strong winds. Postpone application of plant protection measures and fertilizers to the standing crops during gusty wind.
