Depression formed in Bay of Bengal to intensify into cyclone, isolated light rain over Rajasthan, Madhya Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh too
Southwest monsoon has advanced in some parts of the southwest Bay of Bengal, most parts of Southeast, and some parts of East-Central Bay of Bengal. A depression has formed over the East Central Bay of Bengal. It is expected to intensify into a deep depression by today evening or night. It may intensify into a cyclone by the morning of May 24. By the morning of May 25th, it is expected to intensify further into a very severe cyclone. A western disturbance is over North Pakistan and adjoining Afghanistan. A cyclonic circulation is over West Rajasthan and adjoining parts of Pakistan. A trough is extending from sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Odisha coast across Jharkhand. During the next 24 hours, heavy to very heavy rain main Agar over Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Sea conditions will be rough to very rough over Andaman sea east Central and Central Bay of Bengal. Light to moderate rain with one or two heavy spells may occur over Tamil Nadu, Rayalaseema, Kerala, coastal and south interior Karnataka, and isolated pockets of coastal Odisha and coastal Andhra Pradesh. Light to moderate rain may occur over north East India, Konkan and Goa, and north interior Karnataka.Light rain with one or two moderate spells may occur over Jammu & Kashmir, Gilgit Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Ladakh, and Himachal Pradesh. Isolated light rain over Rajasthan, Madhya Maharashtra, Vidarbha, parts of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Telangana.
