Turmeric crop damaged in Maharashtra due to torrential rains and water-logging in fields
Due to the torrential rains in various parts of Maharashtra for the past few days, low-lying areas have been flooded. There is news of good sowing of turmeric this time in the state, but due to water logging in the fields, there is a possibility of damage to the newborn plants. According to trade experts, due to heavy rains in Sangli division, there is a possibility of loss of 5-10 percent of turmeric crop and 15-20 percent in Nanded, Basmatnagar and Hingoli lines. In Maharashtra, the price of turmeric may increase due to crop damage and the possibility of improving demand in the coming days.
