Apart from America, export duty has also been abolished from other countries. The import duty on lentils has also been reduced to 20 percent. Recently, the government had decided to exempt importers from the cap on the stock of pulses. Along with this, the rules were also relaxed for mills, wholesale traders. This step was taken after the softening of pulses prices and the opinion received from the representatives of the states. The stock limit for wholesalers will be 500 tonnes. The stock limit for any one pulse variety shall not exceed 200 tonnes. At the same time, the stock limit for mills will be six months' production or 50 percent installed capacity, whichever is higher. At the same time, the stock limit for retail traders will be five tonnes.
