Isolated rainfall is forecast over Nagaland, Manipur, Meghalaya, and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal

A trough over East India in the lower tropospheric levels is expected to produce light to moderate scattered to widespread rainfall over Arunachal Pradesh and light isolated to scattered rains over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland and Manipur during the next two days and thereafter decrease in intensity and distribution. Further, isolated heavy rains may lash Arunachal Pradesh and northeast Assam on February 22. In addition, isolated thunderstorms accompanied by lightning may pelt Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland and Manipur on February 22. Similar weather conditions, along with hailstorms, are expected over northeast Assam on February 22. Meanwhile, a fresh western disturbance will likely impact Western Himalayan Region from February 25. As a result, isolated to scattered rainfall or snowfall is likely over Jammu, Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand from February 25.

During the next 24 hours, day temperatures may fall by 2 to 3 degrees over Rajasthan and Gujarat. Day and night temperatures to remain above normal over many parts of Central India. As for the mercury levels, maximum temperatures are expected to fall by 2°C over Northwest India during the next 24 hours, with no significant change thereafter. However, daytime mercury levels will likely stay 3-5°C above normal over Northwest, Central and West India during the next five days.
