Light rainfall is possible over Meghalaya, West Bengal, Nagaland, Sikkim and Assam

During the next 24 hours, light to moderate rain and snow with a few heavy spells are possible over Arunachal Pradesh. Light rainfall is possible over Meghalaya, sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Nagaland and Assam. We do not expect any significant deviation in temperatures over most parts of the country for at least next 2 days. Temperatures will increase over Northwest India thereafter. A fresh western disturbance will likely affect the Western Himalayan Region from February 25. Under its influence, light to moderate isolated to scattered rainfall may occur over Jammu, Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand from February 25-28.

As for the temperature trends, overnight minimums are expected to stay higher than usual over much of the northern half of the country. At the same time, daytime mercury levels are likely to be 3-5°C above average over most parts of Northwest, Central and East India during the next five days. No significant change is expected in maximum temperatures over Northwest India during the next 24 hours, however, a 2-3°C rise in daytime temperatures is on the cards thereafter. Furthermore, no significant change is expected in maximum temperatures over Gujarat during the next two days, followed by a gradual rise of about 2°C thereafter.
