A western disturbance is likely to affect the Western Himalayan region, with locally heavy rainfall of 50 mm or snowfall of 50 cm from Wednesday until Thursday. Under the influence of this system, light to moderate scattered rainfall/snowfall with isolated thunderstorms are expected over Punjab and Haryana and over north Rajasthan. Isolated heavy rainfall/snowfall is also very likely over Kashmir Valley and Himachal Pradesh. Thunderstorms with lightning & hail may pelt Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Maximum temperatures will be above normal over much of India during this projected period, while near normal across South India. Minimum temperature will be well above normal over India during the period except for portions of South India with near or slightly below normal night-time lows.
