Light rain is possible over South Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Lakshadweep, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, and southern parts of Andaman and Nicobar Islands

A western disturbance is seen as a trough in the middle tropospheric levels. Its associated cyclonic circulation lies over Southeast Rajasthan and adjoining West Madhya Pradesh in the lower tropospheric levels. Under their collective influence, light to moderate scattered to fairly widespread rainfall or snowfall may occur over the Western Himalayan Region and the adjoining plains on March 2. Meanwhile, a cyclonic circulation persists over South Assam and its neighbourhood at about 0.9 kilometres above mean sea level. In addition, another fresh western disturbance is expected to affect the Western Himalayan Region from March 4.

In Western India, daytime mercury levels may rise by 2-4°C during the next two days, with no significant change thereafter. Overnight minimums are likely to be higher than usual in Northern India during this projection period. During the next 24 hours, light to moderate rain and snow with one or two heavy spells are possible over Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and at 1 or 2 places over Uttarakhand. Light rain is possible over South Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Lakshadweep, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, and southern parts of Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Isolated thunderstorm activities may occur over Northwest Uttar Pradesh and northern parts of Punjab.
