During the next 24 hours, isolated rain and thundershower may occur over eastern parts of Rajasthan, west Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh as well as eastern Madhya Pradesh. Hailstorm is also expected in some parts. Light rains and thundershowers may be seen over parts of Odisha. Some rains are expected over parts of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Nagaland. On Tuesday, a western disturbance and its associated trough lying over North India and stretching into Gujarat will produce thunderstorms across Central India, West India and adjoining areas. Thunderstorms will shift into East India as well as Central India Wednesday as the trough moves eastward slowly. More specifically, isolated light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms is very likely over Central India, Maharashtra, Rajasthan and Gujarat.

Hailstorm with gusty winds speeding at 30-40 kmph at isolated places over East Rajasthan, West Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Madhya Maharashtra, West Rajasthan, Marathwada and Vidarbha. Isolated light or moderate rainfall with thunderstorms and gusty winds is possible over Jharkhand on March 8 and 9. Isolated light rainfall is also very likely over Odisha, Gangetic West Bengal. Similar weather is forecast over Arunachal Pradesh, east Assam and Nagaland. As for the mercury levels, maximum temperatures will be below normal across Central India, South India and adjoining areas during this projection period. Minimum temperatures will be above to well above normal across much of India during this period, while night-time lows are near or slightly below normal across portions of South India.
