Isolated light rain is possible over North Chhattisgarh, Sikkim, and parts of Assam

During the next 24 hours, scattered rain and thunder showers may occur over East Rajasthan, parts of north Madhya Pradesh and Southwest Uttar Pradesh today. Bihar, Jharkhand and West Bengal may receive started rain and thunderstorm activities. Isolated light rain is possible over North Chhattisgarh, Sikkim, and parts of Assam. A western disturbance is seen as a trough in the middle tropospheric levels, and its induced circulation now lies over East Rajasthan and the neighbourhood in lower tropospheric levels. Meanwhile, a cyclonic circulation lies over interior Odisha and adjoining Chhattisgarh extending up to 1.5 km above mean sea level. Under the collective influence of these systems, isolated light rainfall with thunderstorms may occur over East Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Odisha, East Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh on March 9 and 10.

Thunderstorms with winds gusting to 30-40 kmph are forecast at isolated places over Jharkhand on March 9 and 10. Isolated thundershowers are expected over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya from March 9 to 13. As for the mercury levels, maximum temperatures are expected to rise by 2-4°C over Northwest India and a rise of 3-5°C is on the cards over Gujarat between March 10-12. Similarly, Konkan and Goa may witness a 3-5°C spike in maximum temperatures on March 9 and 10. Further, daytime temperatures may rise by 4-6°C over Central India and Interior Maharashtra on March 9 and 10 and over Telangana between March 10 to 12.
