A western disturbance seen in the middle and upper tropospheric levels, and its induced cyclonic circulation over Northeast Rajasthan and the neighbourhood persists. The trough from the above cyclonic circulation over Northeast Rajasthan extends across Uttar Pradesh and Bihar up to Nagaland. Another cyclonic circulation over Southwest Rajasthan and the neighbourhood extends up to 1.5 km above mean sea level. Furthermore, a trough or wind discontinuity extends from Interior Tamil Nadu to Central Chhattisgarh across South Interior Karnataka, Rayalaseema and Telangana. Under these systems collective influence, fresh rainfall and thunderstorm activity may commence over Northwest India from March 23. Meanwhile, fairly widespread to widespread light or moderate rains accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds are forecast to continue over West Bengal, Sikkim and Northeast India from March 21-23.
