Madhya Pradesh government re-opens registration portal for wheat procurement on MSP

The Madhya Pradesh government has re-opened the portal for three days from March 22 to 24 for registration of farmers for government procurement of wheat at minimum support price (MSP) in the current Rabi marketing season. According to the order issued by the state government on March 21, farmers will be able to register for selling wheat from March 22 to 24, 2023. The registration on the government procurement portal had closed on March 5. The government has decided that government procurement of wheat will start from March 25 in Indore, Ujjain, Bhopal and Narmadapuram regions. While the government procurement of wheat will start from April 1 in Jabalpur, Rewa, Shahdol, Gwalior and Chambal regions. The central government has fixed the minimum support price (MSP) of wheat at Rs 2,125 per quintal for the current Rabi marketing season. Due to heavy rains and hailstorm in many districts of the state, wheat, the main Rabi crop, has caused heavy damage to other crops.
