Strong northeasterly winds from Bay of Bengal and a cyclonic circulation moving westward over Tamil Nadu will produce heavy to very heavy rain across southern portions of South India for coming 3-4 days. Continuous rainfall in Tamil Nadu can leach nutrients from the soil of Rice field. Framers are advised to Adjust the fertilizer application based on moisture availability and Rainfall can encourage weed growth in paddy fields, so provide proper drainage facilities and use appropriate herbicides or manual weeding after the rainfall. A western disturbance will affect the Western Himalayan Region in coming 3-4 days. During the next 24 hours, light to moderate rain with a few heavy spells may occur over coastal Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and parts of Kerala. In Andhra Pradesh, present weather conditions are favourable for the incidence of stem borer in paddy. To control it, farmers are advised to do spraying of acephate @ 1.5g/l. Light to moderate rain is possible over south interior Karnataka and Rayalaseema for 2-3 days. Due to the increase in wind speed, air quality index may improve over Delhi and NCR from today. Maximum temperatures will be near or slightly below normal across North and Central India as well as portions of East India and above normal across the remainder of the subcontinent during this projection period. Minimum temperatures will be above to well above normal over India during this period, while near-normal nighttime lows are likely across NCR and adjoining areas for several days.
