The Severe Cyclonic Storm "Michaung" progressed over the West-central Bay of Bengal, off the south Andhra Pradesh and adjoining north Tamil Nadu coasts and moved northwards at Now, the system is likely to move nearly northwards parallel and close to the south Andhra Pradesh coast and cross Nellore and Machilipatnam, close to Bapatla. Due to the above system, moderate to heavy rains possible over Coastal Andhra Pradesh, southeast Telangana, Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu and south coastal Odisha for next 2 days. Heavy to very heavy rain is likely to occur at a few places over Chennai, Tiruvallur, Kancheepuram, Ranipet, Chengalpattu, Villupuram, Cuddalore, Vellore, Tirupattur, Tiruvannamalai and Kallakurichi. If the storm moves further to northward direction, then the area of rainfall activity is likely to extend into Northeast India also. Meanwhile light to moderate rainfall accompanied by lightning is very likely over Vidarbha and Chhattisgarh during next 2 days. Maximum temperatures are forecast to be lower-than-normal across Gujarat and East India for the next five days. Dry weather is likely to prevail over the other parts of the country.
