The system has completed its landfall near Baptala and North Kavali. Cyclone Michaung effect has come to an end: Today only Kakinada, Anakapalli, Vizianagaram, Vizag, Araku, Vizianagaram & Srikakulam to see heavy downpours. Rest of the state will see light rains or no rain. The deep depression “Michaung” was located over the area near the border between Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. It is expected to track nearly northward crossing east Telangana and Chhattisgarh, further weakening into a well-marked low-pressure area. Under the influence of the above system, very heavy rainfall is possible in isolated places of Odisha, north Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha, east Telangana on for next 2 days. Meanwhile, a weak western disturbance (WD) is likely to affect the Western Himalayan region after 3-4 days. Dry weather is expected to prevail over other parts of the country during this forecast period. Maximum temperatures are forecast to be lower-than-normal across Gujarat and East India for next five days.
