Under the influence of an anticyclone over the north Bay of Bengal, moisture is penetrating east-central and east India from the Bay of Bengal in the lower tropospheric levels. This will result in light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms in isolated places over East Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal and Sikkim during next 24- 48 hours. A fresh western disturbance is likely to come over the Himalayas in coming 2 days and it will last for another 5-6 days showering good snowfall over Himachal Pradesh, Jammu division, Uttarakhand etc. Further Cold weather conditions continue in Punjab and Haryana. Light to moderate rains can be seen in Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Chandigarh etc. in coming 5-6 days. In Haryana, where stem rot disease occurs every year, first spray of Carbendazim at the rate of 0.1% should be done 45-50 days after sowing. Scattered rain is likely over Gangetic West Bengal and Odisha and Isolated rain or snow may occur over Arunachal Pradesh.
