A fresh Western Disturbance is expected to impact the Western Himalayan Region within 2 days and its effect will remain for next 5-6 days causing light to moderate rainfall or snowfall over Jammu-Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh and over Uttarakhand in coming 3-4 days. In Himachal Pradesh, wrapping of plastic sheets around mango trunk should be done for preventing climbing of young mealy bugs. Under the influence of an anticyclone over the north Bay of Bengal, moisture is penetrating east-central and east India from the Bay of Bengal. This will result in light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms in isolated places over East Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, West Bengal and Sikkim for 1-2 days and will gradually decrease. Light rainfall is in the forecast during next five days period. So, farmers are advised to withhold irrigation and spraying of chemicals for the time being. Additionally, dense fog is possible across the northern plains for several days in Bihar and Jharkhand during next 2 days.
