The arrival of new crop of turmeric is gaining momentum. Due to which its prices have also started slowing down. Its prices have also declined due to profit booking at higher prices. According to experts, due to low production of turmeric this year, its prices are likely to remain high in the long run. Now the arrival of new crop of turmeric is gaining momentum. There has been about 20 percent more arrivals in the month of March compared to February. Due to which the prices of turmeric have also slowed down. In the last 20 days, the price of turmeric has decreased by more than Rs 3000. This year the turmeric crop is said to be very weak. According to business estimates, the production of turmeric in the country may decline to 50 to 55 lakh bags this year, which is much less than 80 to 85 lakh bags last year. Due to unfavorable weather, there may be a shortage of good quality turmeric this year. In such a situation, turmeric prices may remain high in the long run. At present, inward pressure is being seen but it will not remain there for long. Good quality turmeric can be stocked.
