Summer paddy production area in West Bengal jumped from 7.87 lakh hectare to 10.22 lakh hectare, in Telangana it increased from 4.77 lakh hectare to 6.15 lakh hectare and in Tamil Nadu it improved from 1004 lakh hectare to 1.64 lakh hectare. Apart from this, summer paddy has also been cultivated well in some other states including Andhra Pradesh, Bihar and Gujarat. As compared to last year, this time the sowing area of groundnut increased from 3.77 lakh hectare to 3.89 lakh hectare and the area of sesame improved from 4.00 lakh hectare to 4.09 lakh hectare. The area of sunflower also improved from 28 thousand hectares to 29 thousand hectares. In this way, the total production area of paddy, pulses and oilseed crops increased by 8 percent from 43.45 lakh hectares last year to 46.88 lakh hectares this time. ,
