Maize : Market to decrease further by Rs. 100, due to increase in arrivals

The arrival of the new Rabi season maize crop in Bihar has currently increased by 32 percent in 3 days, due to which the market has fallen by Rs 75 per quintal and there are chances of it falling further by Rs 100-200 in the future. Maize crop is grown in both Rabi and Kharif seasons. From October to March, 68-70 percent of the Kharif season maize crop of all the states like UP, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka has been harvested. Now at present maize is standing ready in Khagaria, Begusarai, Gulab Bagh, Darbhanga, Mansi, Semapur, Katihar, Purnia, Shivhar, Supaul line of Bihar. The pressure of new goods has increased by 32 percent in Darbhanga Gulab Bagh line, where its price is between Rs 2020 - 2070 per quintal depending on the moisture, which is being sold in Haryana and Punjab at Rs 2300 - 2350. It is worth noting that when the corn of Bihar is sold for Rs 2400, then in that situation the corn of MP-Rajasthan gets destroyed, because the amount of starch in the corn of Bihar is high and due to the quality being hybrid, most of the industries consume it. . Even in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan, old goods are still lying in the stock and in the next 15 days the arrival of maize in the producer markets of Bihar will double. In this situation, it seems that by the last week of this month the price of corn will fall further below Rs 100 per quintal. Presently, the price of maize which is being sold in Bihar at Rs 2050 per quintal today, can become Rs 1950. However, considering the production of 70/72 lakh metric tonnes of corn, some traders are also speculating about selling it in Khagaria line at the price of Rs 1900 per quintal, but due to high prices of other cereal commodities including wheat market, breaking the point of Rs 1950 is not possible. Times are looking tough. It is noteworthy that this time in the Kharif season, the production of maize has been around 227 lakh metric tonnes and a lot of goods have been sold. Some goods are in stock, but traders and farmers are estimating 6 lakh metric tonnes more Rabi season maize in Bihar as compared to the same period last year, in this situation one should stop now. The maize there in Haryana and Punjab is also expected to be sold below Rs 2200.
