Maize prices continued to trade steady to weak across major centers in Uttar Pradesh today as increasing new maize arrivals pressurized the prices. However, lower-than-expected yields in UP and a weak supply scenario in Bihar limited the decline in prices. Maize prices traded weak by Rs 10-30 per quintal across major centers in Uttar Pradesh today. Bihar-based source said, "Gulabbagh mandi prices are quoted steady at Rs 2180-2210. Rains are still observed and this is damaging the quality and quantity of Bihar crops now." Maize is likely to trade weak in the domestic market in the coming months as the arrival of new maize in UP line along with sluggish exports may put pressure on prices.
