The primary reason for this surge is the decline in maize supply from Uttar Pradesh, prompting ethanol companies and large stockholding firms to actively purchase maize from the state. Additionally, the delayed harvest in Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra may further contribute to rising prices in the market. In Haryana and Punjab, maize prices have also climbed to between ₹2750 and ₹2850, reflecting the growing demand. Therefore, it is clear that maize prices may continue to increase in the coming period.
