Maize Report
The recent increase in maize prices can be attributed to several factors. In the Bihar markets, maize prices have reached between ₹2550 and ₹2600 per quintal, marking a rise of ₹550 over the past four months. The primary reason for this surge is the decline in maize supply from Uttar Pradesh, prompting ethanol companies and large stockholding firms to actively purchase maize from the state. Additionally, the delayed harvest in Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra may further contribute to rising prices in the market. In Haryana and Punjab, maize prices have also climbed to between ₹2750 and ₹2850, reflecting the growing demand. Therefore, it is clear that maize prices may continue to increase in the coming period.
