Heavy Rains to Soak Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka.
The cyclonic circulation over Sri Lanka & neighbourhood is now seen over Southwest Bay of Bengal off Tamil Nadu coast and extends upto middle tropospheric levels tilting southwestwards bringing prolonged heavy rain across South India, with Tamil Nadu and Kerala experiencing very heavy rainfall in next 2-3 days. Another fresh cyclonic circulation is set to develop over the central Bay of Bengal this weekend and approach the east coast of South India by mid-next week. A cyclonic circulation over Northeast India will continue to produce heavy rain, particularly in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya. The Western Disturbance as a cyclonic circulation over Jammu and adjoining Pakistan, Light rain and thunderstorms are likely over Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Ladakh, and Uttarakhand. Mountainous regions may see snow mixed with rain. Light to moderate rain may occur over Maharashtra, south Madhya Pradesh, and Tamil Nadu, While heavy rain is possible over Karnataka, and Andhra Pradesh, Light rain is possible over Western Himalayas, Bihar, south Gujarat, and Odisha.
