Heavy Rains to Batter Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka.
The well low-pressure area has intensified into a depression over the Central Arabian Sea. It is expected to move in the West Northwest direction towards the Oman coast during the next 2 days. The cyclonic circulation is over the Southwest Bay of Bengal. Under its influence, a low-pressure area has formed over the Central parts of the South Bay of Bengal. It is likely to become a well-marked low-pressure area and move in the West-Northwest direction towards north Tamil Nadu and adjoining South Andhra Pradesh coast during next 2 days. Conditions are favourable for further withdrawal of Southwest monsoon from remaining parts of Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Assam, Meghalaya, entire Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura, and some more parts of Maharashtra, and North Bay of Bengal during the next 2 days. Moderate to heavy rain may occur over Tamil Nadu, Kerala, South interior Karnataka, and coastal Andhra Pradesh during next 2-3 days. Light to moderate rain with one or two heavy spells may occur over Kerala, Telangana and Konkan and Goa, while light rain is possible over Odisha. Light to moderate rain is possible over Maharashtra, South Gujarat, Chhattisgarh, and South Madhya Pradesh. Additionally, southeast Rajasthan may also experience light rain. Light rain is possible over Northeast India, Sikkim, and Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
