Western Disturbance Brings Rain and Snow to North.
A fresh Western Disturbance is likely to affect the Western Himalayan during the next 24 hours. Isolated light rain is possible over the upper reaches of the Western Himalayas. We expect light to moderate rain and snowfall over Jammu & Kashmir and some parts of Ladakh between November during next 2 days. Dense to very dense fog is expected to prevail in isolated pockets of Punjab, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh during the late night and early morning hours over the next two days, while dense fog is likely in isolated areas of Himachal Pradesh until the morning of the 17th. A low pressure area lies over southwest & adjoining westcentral Bay of Bengal off north Tamil Nadu & adjoining south Andhra Pradesh coasts. This system will bring heavy rain across South India throughout this period. Light to moderate rain with a few heavy spells is possible over coastal Andhra Pradesh, coastal Tamil Nadu and Andaman & Nicobar Islands. Light to moderate rain may occur over South interior Karnataka, and interior Tamil Nadu. Rain activities are expcted to commence over South Telangana, South Maharashtra, and Goa after 24 hours. During this period, maximum temperatures are expected to remain above normal across much of India, while minimum temperatures will range from above to well above normal.
